MonScan Terms
These MonScan terms add to the Control INC Terms of Use, which apply to MonScan in full. If these MonScan terms conflict with the general Terms, these MonScan terms apply for MonScan. Our MonScan privacy notice explains how data is handled.
1. Premium subscription
MonScan Premium is an auto-renewing subscription offered with weekly, monthly and yearly billing periods. The price, billing period and any free trial are shown on the subscription screen before you buy. Premium currently includes card scanning without limits, AI chat, AI grade estimates, the AI price forecast, full card details, free daily packs without watching an ad, and no ads. Scanning requires an active Premium subscription unless the app offers another way to access it at the time. Some features, such as asking an AI chat question, may also be unlocked by watching a rewarded ad where the app offers this.
Billing, auto-renewal, cancellation and refunds work as described in section 4 of the Terms of Use. In short: payment is charged to your Google Play account; the subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; you can cancel in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions; uninstalling MonScan does not cancel it; and refunds follow the Google Play refund policy.
We may change which features are included in Premium or free. If we remove a significant part of what you paid for during a paid period, you may contact us about a refund for that period.
2. One-time purchases
MonScan may offer consumable one-time products, such as a package that lets you save a custom card, or packs of scan credits where offered. Each is billed through Google Play when you confirm it and is used up when you use it.
3. Coins and virtual packs
- Coins are earned by using MonScan: completing daily missions (such as scanning cards, opening a pack or reading an article), keeping a daily streak, and other in-app rewards. A mission may award bonus coins when you start Premium.
- Coins cannot be bought with real money, and virtual packs cannot be bought with real money. You can also get a free daily pack and a limited number of packs by watching rewarded ads; Premium subscribers get the daily pack without an ad.
- Virtual packs contain random virtual cards from fictional sets made for MonScan. The cards you get are random.
- Coins, packs and virtual cards have no cash or real-world value. They cannot be exchanged for money, physical cards or anything else, and cannot be sold, traded or transferred.
- Virtual items may be lost if you clear the app's storage, uninstall MonScan or change devices. See section 6 of the Terms of Use.
4. Custom cards and community
Custom cards are fan-made and are not official trading cards. When you share a custom card, it becomes public and you must follow the MonScan community guidelines and section 8 of the Terms of Use. Do not use images you do not have the right to use, and do not present a custom card as genuine or try to sell it as an official card. We may remove any shared card that breaks these rules.
5. Identifications, prices and AI
- Card identification is automatic and can be wrong. Check the result against your card.
- Prices and price history are based on third-party market data (such as TCGplayer and Cardmarket) and may be delayed, incomplete or different from what you can actually buy or sell for.
- The AI price forecast is an estimate only and is not financial or investment advice.
- AI grade estimates are not official grades. MonScan is not affiliated with PSA or any other grading company, and an estimate does not predict the grade a grading company will give.
- AI chat answers are generated automatically and can be inaccurate or incomplete. Do not rely on them for important decisions. Report offensive or harmful AI output to [email protected].

6. External shops and services
MonScan may show links to marketplaces such as eBay, Cardmarket and TCGplayer, and to the PSA submission website. These are third-party services. We are not responsible for their listings, prices, products or practices, and any purchase you make there is between you and that service.
7. Trademarks
Trademark notice. MonScan is an independent app made by Control INC. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Nintendo, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK inc. or The Pokémon Company. Pokémon and Pokémon character names are trademarks of Nintendo, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK inc. and The Pokémon Company, used here only to describe the cards the app can recognise. TCGplayer, Cardmarket, eBay, PSA and other names are trademarks of their respective owners, and MonScan is not affiliated with them.
